Parental controls are part of these advances that help control not only the sites that minors consult, but also help improve the use of the network by establishing navigation schedules, blocking notifications during study hours, among others.

Online supervision and security tools for minors are part of the company’s commitment, according to Priscila Couto, Program Leader, Trust and Security for Google Latin America.

These tools, such as SafeSearch, are, among others, “to promote respect among minors, empower them to explore and learn, and protect them in the digital world.”

Google has launched a new Family Link design, which facilitates supervision and administration by parents regarding the accounts and devices that children and adolescents manage.

Parents or guardians can see a summary of the use by application, manage a browsing time limit, as well as schedule breaks or approve downloads, in addition to blocking websites that they consider suspicious, harmful, or openly containing adult content.

Parent administrators can restrict malicious applications

Google also offers the new function called School Time “that will help children stay focused during school hours. It allows administrators to limit phone use, silence notifications and restrict applications based on different needs.”

On the other hand, with the Be Awesome on the Internet program, the goal is to provide children with tools that allow them to acquire the necessary skills “to preserve their security and act intelligently in the online world.”
