Binance announced its incorporation into the Colombian Fintech group of entities, the association of companies within the financial technologies sector in that nation. The  purpose is the promoting and strengthening education associated with cryptocurrencies, as well as supporting the path of the regulation and adoption of crypto assets in the South American country.

The exchange revealed, in an official statement, that they become strategic allies of the Colombian organization. COO for Binance Colombia, Bryan Benson, commented: “We are very satisfied to be part of a body that supports financial development on digital platforms and promotes good practices in the financial sector”.

He stressed that this is aligned with the essence of Binance as a company, because in addition to being a robust exchange, “we are creators of blockchain technology that has an impact on various sectors of the economy. Without a doubt, being part of Colombia Fintech will promote good practices and strengthen education in the use of cryptocurrencies in Colombia.”

The president of Colombia Fintech, Erick Rincón, positively evaluated Binance’s entry into the Colombian organization, highlighting that Fintech companies are the immediate response to the need for innovation in the traditional financial system, allowing access to financial products to the entire society.

Binance’s association with Colombia Fintech is framed within its expansion plans that the exchange has within the Colombian market, considered one of the most favorable from a commercial and adoption point of view of crypto in the region.

The exchange house currently has an alliance with the Davivienda bank within the regulatory sandbox implemented by the Financial Superintendency, LaArena, and are working together to refine regulatory details associated with commercial operations for cryptocurrencies in the country.

At present, Colombia has not taken an official position regarding cryptocurrencies. However, Mauricio Toro, a congressman of the green party, introduced for the third time, before the Congress of the Republic, the bill to regulate crypto-asset exchanges in the country.

The Network of Universities for Information and Communication Technologies (UxTIC) and the Binance Foundation have announced their new alliances in order to create spaces dedicated to learning in the field of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

Both companies reported that the initiative will consist of creating various courses available to students and teachers from more than 30 study houses in the country, as announced in a press release published by the University Network.

Crypto training

Despite the fact that Colombian universities have not formally added blockchain and cryptocurrency content to their curricula, the courses will be part of an educational program led by UxTIC in order to integrate the education sector into the management of new technologies and their importance in the financial market.

According to the director of operations of Binance LATAM, Bryan Benson, “this course is the gateway to long-term work with universities in Colombia, since the idea is to make alliances that allow greater knowledge of the sector, consolidate academic ecosystems and research, develop laboratories and promote education in favor of the adoption of digital assets.”

Benson reported that the intention is “to approach all universities in the country so that more Colombians have access to this information that is already part of our present and that day by day has much greater relevance in both economic and social areas.”
