The blue insignia, similar to the one that already exists on social networks such as Twitter or Instagram, will be displayed next to the logo and the name of the brand that sends an email, as long as it is registered in the brand identification system that Google introduced in 2021.

This identification system (BIMI) not only verifies the identity of an organization, but also requires it to use strong authentication, in order to display the brand logo as an avatar in the mail.

“Strong email authentication helps users and email security systems identify and stop spam, and also allows senders to leverage their brand trust,” the company explained on its Workspace blog.

The blue badge will begin to be displayed starting this week for users listed in the BIMI, being available for GoogleWorkspace, legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers, and personal Google accounts.

Instagram began testing subscriptions a year ago, with three options depending on the type of exclusive content that the creator wants to offer their followers: live videos, stories that allow interaction with stickers or badges to identify subscribers. in the feed comments.

The developer and expert in reverse engineering Alessandro Paluzzi has now identified in the code of the application of the social network “small references” to a subscription plan that would include the blue badge, as he has shared on his Twitter account.

This movement is reminiscent of the Twitter Blue subscription, which, among the additional functions, offers compared to the standard version, includes the blue badge that verifies a user’s account.

The company relaunched this subscription service on Monday and is available both in the web version, for $8 a month, and on iOS devices, whose users must pay $11 a month.

At the moment, this modality, which includes the popular blue badge of the social network, is only available in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, although the company plans to expand Twitter Blue to more countries soon.

Recently, the social network talked about what are the requirements that users must meet so that, once they have created and paid for their subscription and after the corresponding review by the company, they receive the blue verification.

Twitter insisted that, as it seeks to “guarantee and maintain the integrity of the platform”, it will only provide this blue badge to accounts that present a complete profile, that is, with a public name and photograph.
