The largest chain of Hispanic supermarkets in the United States, Cardenas Markets, reported that it plans to install crypto ATMs in its stores to offer its users the possibility of buying and selling 50 digital currencies using cash.

Bitcoin ATM and digital currency machine provider Coin Cloud has signed a partnership with the supermarket chain to install bitcoin ATMs at Cardenas Market locations in Arizona, California, and Nevada.

According to the statement issued by the company Cardenas Markets, the first of these terminals “will be installed in the Las Vegas store of Cardenas Markets and then, according to tests and trials, the rest will be installed in the other supermarkets.”

The trend in the use of crypto ATMs grows

The installation of ATMs is a growing trend in the United States and a recently published study highlights that Hispanic Americans use more cryptocurrencies every day as a payment method in different businesses.

In 2020, the world’s largest convenience store chain, Circle K, incorporated Bitcoin Depot ATMs at its points of sale and currently has 700 machines in 30 states.

For its part, cryptocurrency ATM operator Bitcoin of America has seen significant growth in the number of ATM installations, managing to operate more than 2,500 Bitcoin ATMs as of mid-June, which represents an increase of 38 % since March.
