Binance.US, the cryptocurrency exchange, faces a serious legal dispute with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) due to alleged irregularities in its services. The SEC accused the company of failing to adequately cooperate in an ongoing investigation.

According to recently disclosed legal documents, the SEC maintains that the betting, clearing and brokerage services offered by Binance.US have violated federal securities law.

One of the main points of concern for federal regulators is the use of Ceffu, a custody service provided by the international arm of Binance.

There are also concerns that this could contravene a previous agreement aimed at preventing the storage of assets abroad, adding an additional layer of complexity to the situation.
