The Spanish brand Balenciaga announced that it will start accepting payments with Bitcoin and Ethereum, in its flagship stores and through online purchases.

For many, it represents excellent news, given that until now the respected brand founded in 1917 had stayed away from this world.

Cryptocurrencies will be accepted at Balenciaga flagship stores, including on Madison Avenue in New York and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, as well as on balenciaga.com, the brand’s online site.

This is not the first time that the fashion world has joined the cryptocurrency tide, the Italian firm Gucci announced on May 5 that it will accept twelve cryptocurrencies in 111 stores in North America.

Customers who wish to cancel with them will be sent an email with a QR code to pay through their digital asset wallet. Employees have begun training and education on cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and Web3 in preparation for the launch.
