Growth estimates for Latin America in solar energy could be between 10 and 15 % on average per country in 2025.

This was stated by Sergio Rodríguez, service manager of Solis, one of the largest manufacturers of photovoltaic inverters in the world.

Currently, solar energy production is led in the region by Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia, which generate 45 GW, 3.3 GW, 3 GW and 1.9 GW, respectively. According to Rodríguez, these countries could soon be joined by others such as Panama, Costa Rica and El Salvador, where, thanks to the high prices of other energy sources in the markets, interest in the sector has been awakened.

“Given the adoption of this renewable medium, he pointed out, growth similar to that of 2024 is expected for next year in Latin America and, in the case of Central America and the Caribbean, it could be up to 25 % due to the contribution of countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, Panama or the Dominican Republic,” said the Solis manager.

A crucial aspect in the solar energy sector is the conservation of the environment through the maximization of energy efficiency in Latin America.
