The Hague Group was formed by Bolivia, Cuba, Honduras, Malaysia, Namibia, Senegal, South Africa, and Colombia as “a platform that sought to promote coordinated measures to support the Palestinian people.”

The Colombian president, an ally of Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies, stated that his country was led to believe that the Hague Group “was a forum for international law, but in practice the reality was completely different.”

He criticized diplomatic efforts aimed solely at isolating another nation, deeming it “a misguided approach that does not correspond to our democratic and diplomatic tradition.”

It is expected that Colombia’s decision will soon be emulated by the governments of Honduras and Bolivia.
