According to information related to the app, it will debut on iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16. It will also be available for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.

Details could be revealed during the WWDC 2025 keynote, which will take place on June 9, “and would become the replacement for Game Center starting with the updates to iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16,” according to reports.

In this regard, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has indicated that the new app will also be coming to Apple TV. “The Californian company’s idea is for this app to become a sort of hub that helps strengthen its position as a heavyweight in the gaming world.”

Once the updates to iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, and tvOS 19 are released, the new gaming app should appear pre-installed on all compatible iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs.

Google announced, last July, that Android TV users could access Apple’s streaming content services from the then new applications, instead of continuing to do so from the website.

However, the latest update of the Apple TV application for Android TV has ended the option to rent or buy movies directly from televisions with this operating system, as confirmed by FlatpanelsHD after analyzing reports from several Reddit users.

“How to watch” is the new Apple button

Apple platforms now in place of ‘Buy’ or ‘Rent’ include a ‘How to watch’ button, which indicates that you can “buy, rent or subscribe to Apple TV on iPhone, iPad and other streaming systems” from Apple.

According to information, this option is also no longer available in other ‘gadgets’, such as the Nvidia Shield multimedia ‘streaming’ device or Google’s Chromecast, to transfer content from mobile terminals to television screens.

This change, on the other hand, has not affected the owners of Roku TV devices, who will be able to continue buying and renting content from the application developed by Apple. Meanwhile, the option to rent or buy series or movies from Apple TV is still available in the previous version of the Android TV applications, so users who have not downloaded the latest version can continue to purchase content.

Those who have already updated the system will continue to have access to the library of previously rented or purchased movies and series.

From FlatpanelsHD they have indicated that the application update has not affected the Apple TV + subscription service, which can still be accessed from the Apple TV application.

As reported by Bloomberg, the US company has worked on new versions of its HomePod smart speakers with a screen and camera, although the launch is not imminent at the moment.

Apple launched the main version of HomePod, with a larger design, at the end of 2018, but the company decided to stop selling this model, as it announced this month in a statement sent to CNBC. Instead, the company will focus on the HomePod Mini, the 3.3-inch spherical version that it launched in October 2020.

Bloomberg has also revealed that the technology brand was working on an updated version of the original HomePod, which it expected to launch in 2022, before the recall of the product.

The company has secretly included a sensor in the HomePod Mini that had not been noticed until yesterday, which allows temperature and humidity measurement and integration with smart thermostats, although at the moment it has no function.

Apple is also working on new Internet of Things (IoT) devices as an update to the Apple TV device to connect to televisions, as the aforementioned media has pointed out.
