Inflation in Mexico showed a monthly variation of 0.23 % in September 2025. On the other hand, the annual rate was 3.76 %, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

Regarding the National Consumer Price Index (INPC), the indicator reflected a moderation in inflationary pressures, triggering increases in the prices of “educational services, prepared foods, and housing, while agricultural and energy products showed declines.”

The core index, “which concentrates the goods and services whose prices respond most directly to market conditions, registered a monthly variation of 0.33 % and an annual increase of 4.28 %.”

In detail, merchandise prices increased 0.34 % and services prices, 0.32 %. The largest increases occurred in university tuition (1.82 %), primary education (5.98 %), and snack bars, restaurants, and taco stands (0.47 %). The non-core index, in contrast, decreased 0.10% monthly and showed an annual variation of 2.02 %. Prices for avocados (-11.34 %), potatoes (-6.82 %), eggs (-2.28 %), and LP gas (-0.67 %) helped contain headline inflation.

The minimum consumption basket, “which reflects the prices of essential goods and services, showed a monthly variation of 0.27 % and an annual variation of 3.74 %, moderating compared to the previous year.”
