The WhatsApp instant messaging application has indicated that the new update for Android includes the ability to block incoming calls from numbers unknown to the user.

WhatsApp has been working on the function called precisely “Silence unknown calls” for months, according to the WABetaInfo portal. It will be an optional function for the user.

Incoming calls that are unknown will be blocked, but they will continue to appear in the list of those received on the smartphone.

The portal also mentions that in version 2.23.5.11 of WhatsApp for Android, the user will receive a notification about the possibility of sharing files of up to 2GB through chats.
