Google announced this week a €5.5 billion investment in Germany by 2029 for new offices in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich.

The statement details that the American tech company will also allocate these funds to artificial intelligence infrastructure, focusing on a new data center in Dietzenbach, as well as “continued investments in the Hanau data center campus.”

In addition, Google announced its “first heat recovery project in Germany, as well as local initiatives for training and wetland protection.”

The investment is expected to contribute an average of €1.016 billion to the local GDP, in addition to generating approximately 9,000 jobs annually in Germany until 2029.

Regarding the new data center in Dietzenbach, Google estimates that it will strengthen the company’s cloud regions in Germany, which are part of a global network of 42 regions offering high-performance, low-latency services.
