<p style="text-align: justify;">«The authority with which we speak (Guaidó) does not exercise territorial control. So, we cannot talk about an agreement.<strong> (Nicolás) Maduro</strong> is the one who has territorial control of Venezuela, &#8220;Ernesto Villamayor, spokesman for President <strong>Mario Abdo Benítez,</strong> said at a press conference.</p>
<figure id="attachment_57007" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-57007" style="width: 296px" class="wp-caption alignright"><img decoding="async" class="wp-image-57007 " src="https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Petroleo-Venezuela-300x200.jpg" alt="" width="296" height="197" srcset="https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Petroleo-Venezuela-300x200.jpg 300w, https://bitfinance.news/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Petroleo-Venezuela.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 296px) 100vw, 296px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-57007" class="wp-caption-text"><span lang="en">Paraguay denied the alleged irregularity</span></figcaption></figure>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Paraguayan official came up against an investigation by the Washington Post in which he refers to an alleged plan to allocate a commission of <strong>26 million dollars to lawyers managing</strong> an eventual agreement between <strong>Paraguay</strong> and the interim presidency of Guaidó, which would include a reduction of the 50% of the debt.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">«I am not aware of <strong>any irregular maneuvering</strong> around this issue. Whether they pay their <strong>attorneys</strong> too much or too little, it&#8217;s their problem. Whether or not it is convenient for them to make a 50% reduction is their problem, &#8220;he remarked.</p>
<p>For several analysts and the media, the statement by the Chief of Staff of the Presidency, Juan Ernesto Villamayor, is a confirmation that Guaidó&#8217;s emissaries did offer Paraguay to reduce its oil debt.</p>
