Instagram announced a key change to its algorithm starting in June, directly related to content reposting.

The social network seeks to reduce the saturation of accounts that repeat posts and favor original content, such as photos taken by the creator, edits that reflect a personal vision, as well as image series, tutorials, or original visual narratives.

The penalty will be visible in the loss of feed recommendations. The platform aims to give greater value to original and distinctive creators, drastically reduce the reposting model, among other things.

As for those who use this method, all is not lost. To maintain their accounts, avoid losing visibility, and prevent appeals, they can replicate content or offer their opinion on the topic, but must always credit the original author.
