The current situation in Venezuela regarding flight suspensions could lead to a reduction in hotel occupancy to 30 % by the end of 2025, according to Alberto Vieira, president of the National Federation of Hotels of Venezuela (Fenohotel) and director of Conseturismo.

Vieira stated that “the lack of air connectivity continues to be one of the main obstacles to boosting Venezuelan tourism. This situation threatens the recovery of the hotel industry.”

The problem could have a direct impact on the flow of international visitors, which has already been restricted “due to the limitation of air routes to and from Venezuela.”

This also limits the growth of the industry and makes it more difficult to take advantage of the country’s tourism potential.

However, the executive emphasized that the country maintains its hotel offerings for the Christmas and New Year’s season, “with packages that include special dinners, breakfasts, and musical events.

The capital region and the western states of the country stand out for their variety of options for the festivities.”
