The recent summit in India for safer, more reliable, and more robust AI concluded with a commitment from more than 80 countries to address this technology from a collaborative perspective and to combat its misuse.

In this regard, many of the participating countries recognized the “need to respond efficiently to demands in various sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and natural resources.” Nations like the United States made clear their rejection of “any attempt at governance,” while organizations like the UN and other world leaders “called for viewing the tool under a collaborative and shared vision.”

They consider this approach key to building trust and maximizing economic and social benefits, according to the declaration signed by 86 countries and two international organizations, in favor of sharing the benefits equitably.

Among the related issues mentioned at the summit were “the advantages of multilingual translation with AI, the threats that this technology may pose to employment, and the energy consumption of data centers.”
