In a press release, Shell announced it will provide $5 million in humanitarian aid to Venezuela, channeled through the World Food Programme (WEP) and local humanitarian organizations.

The funds will be used, among other things, to support the country’s response and recovery efforts following two major earthquakes on June 24.

Shell expressed “its deepest solidarity with all those affected by the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela this week. Our thoughts are with the families and communities who have suffered losses and been impacted, including our employees, contractors, and partners in the country, as well as the emergency teams who continue to work tirelessly in the affected areas.”

Adam Lowmass, President of Shell Venezuela, stated: “Our priority is to support those affected, and we are collaborating with humanitarian organizations to deliver urgent aid where it is most needed. We are honored to be able to stand with Venezuela during this difficult recovery process.”
