OpenAI launched Instant Checkout in the United States, a feature for online shopping on Etsy without leaving ChatGPT, in partnership with Stripe.

The platform allows users in the country to make individual purchases using a system based on the open standard Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP).

Currently, it is only available in the country for ChatGPT’s Plus, Pro, and free plans. “The merchant will be responsible for managing orders, payments, and fulfillment through their systems.”

The platform has clarified that ChatGPT’s product selections for customers will remain organic, “ranked based on relevance, and that items with Instant Checkout will not be given preference when displayed among the results.”

OpenAI has announced that they are working to include more than one million Shopify merchants, so that users have access to a wider range of items, and will reach more regions.
