With respect to accounts in foreign currency, particularly in dollars, the current requirements remain unchanged.

Regarding the opening of accounts of natural persons in bolivars, the national currency, the requirements will be more flexible to “offer new opportunities, guaranteeing equality for clients, users in the banking process (…)”.

In this sense, “the variables that modify the risk rating in terms of prevention of money laundering, financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction” have been considered, according to the statement.

The organization indicated that to open a checking or savings account for natural persons level 1 it will be necessary: easy readable laminated identity card of the applicant, current or expired; address of the owner; if you are a foreigner, a legible passport.

In these, the amount of 700 times the official exchange rate of the highest value currency published by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) can be mobilized monthly.

In other types of accounts with these same characteristics but level 2, users will have the possibility of monthly mobilizing “amounts greater than the amount of 700 times the official exchange rate of the highest value currency published by the BCV.”

The requirements that the country’s financial entities must request are: easy readable laminated identity card of the applicant, current or expired; address of the owner; copy of the holder’s legible and current Single Registry of Tax Information (RIF); if you are a foreigner, a legible passport; Income Certification (attestation) when dealing with people of free economic activity; proof of employment, when dealing with people under labor dependence.

To open bank accounts of any type, it will be essential to hold an interview with the applicant by the banking entities, which may be carried out in person or by other means, such as video call, video conference, certified by Sudeban.
