Several non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Venezuela have expressed their hope at the installation of the technical assistance office of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in Caracas.

These NGOs, including Provea; Justice, Meeting and Forgiveness; and others, issued a joint statement emphasizing the importance of the State promoting genuine investigations in compliance with the standards of the Rome Statute, the treaty that governs the operation of this court.
