For the second consecutive year, the Venezuelan businessman Juan Carlos Escotet is part of the Forbes list of the richest in the world, ranked number 903 on said list.

Escotet is known for being deeply linked to the Venezuelan banking sector, specifically for being the founder of the Banesco banking group, which has a presence in other countries such as the Dominican Republic, Panama, Colombia, Puerto Rico and the United States.

The Venezuelan, currently 62 years old and with extensive business experience, repeats on the Forbes list of the richest in the world with a fortune estimated at 3,500 million dollars. Escotet is president of ABANCA in Spain.

Among other Latinos included in this list are the Mexican telecommunications tycoon Carlos Slim, in 13th place. Germán Larrea, also Mexican, occupies 45th place. For her part, Iris Fontbona, Chilean, is heiress to an empire of the group Andrónico Luksic, and appears in position 67.

Two Uruguayans also stand out on the list for the first time: Andrés Bzurovski and Sergio Fogel, co-founders of the firm dLocal. They join a half dozen Argentines and Chileans, as well as four Colombians and three Peruvians.
