The Spanish team was crowned champion of the FIFA World Cup this Sunday, held in Australia and New Zealand, by beating England 1-0. The prize money amounts to US$ 4.29 million.

For the first time in its history, Spain obtains the title in a women’s soccer world cup. The words of praise have not been long in coming, starting with the Spanish Royal House through their social networks, where they described the team as “the best”.

The funds for the teams have been tripled by FIFA compared to 2019. In the 2023 Women’s World Cup, the 150 million euros have been distributed among the federations as follows: group stage: US$ 1.56 million round of 16 final US$1.87 million; quarterfinals: $2.18 million; fourth place US$ 2,455 million; third place US$ 2.61 million; runners-up US$3.015 million and champions US$4.29 million.

Regarding the prize money for each player according to the phase they have reached in the 2023 Women’s World Cup, the figures are as follows: Group phase US$30,000; round of 16 US$60,000; quarterfinals US$90,000; fourth place US$165,000; third place US$180,000; runners-up US$195,000 and champions US$270,000.

The numbers continue to favor men’s soccer, with a difference of 65 %, taking into account that in the past World Cup in Qatar 2022, the amount awarded in cash was US$440 million.
