The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ordered the suspension of drone flights and sales throughout the country for 30 days, with the possibility of extending the measure, as reflected in Extraordinary Official Gazette No. 6,927.

Through his official Instagram account, the Minister of Transportation, Ramón Celestino Velásquez Araguayán, published the government measure detailing the implementation of this order, in conjunction with the Ministries of Transportation; Interior Affairs; Justice and Peace; Defense; and Economy and Finance.

The statement states that “the purchase, sale, manufacture, import, distribution, instruction, training, registration, and flight operations of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), whether remotely piloted or unpiloted, and model aircraft, as well as their parts and components, are suspended and prohibited throughout the national territory.”
