The regulatory body has outlined the timeline for establishing the stages of the regulatory process. The news has been considered a “sign that the country seeks to regulate the digital asset market with greater oversight and clear rules for stakeholders operating with users.”

In the regional crypto ecosystem, Brazil is considered an important market due to the size of its economy and its user base. “The fact that the Central Bank has set a timeline, establishing 2027 as the year in which rules for the crypto industry will be established, indicates an intention to move from general discussions to gradual implementation.”

The establishment of a timeline by the Central Bank of Brazil could have a decisive impact “on how cryptocurrency companies plan their expansion” in Latin America. It may also prompt other countries to accelerate “their own regulatory processes so as not to fall behind in supervisory standards.”

The decision, approved by a qualified majority, with Hungary and Slovakia voting against and Bulgaria abstaining, is considered a “fundamental step towards the Union definitively ending its energy dependence on Russia.”

Existing contracts will undergo a transition period, which will help limit the impact of this decision on prices and markets. The 27 EU member states have also agreed to impose an obligation requiring them to verify the country of origin of any gas before authorizing its entry into the Union, thus preventing Russian gas from being introduced through sales to third countries.

Failure to comply with these new rules, which will come into force on February 2, could result in maximum fines of at least €2.5 million for individuals and at least €40 million for companies, as well as a minimum of 3.5 % of the company’s total worldwide annual turnover or 300 % of the estimated turnover of the transaction.

Furthermore, from March 1, EU member states will be required to draw up national plans to diversify their gas supplies and identify potential challenges to their replacement.

There is an exception to the regulation, allowing for a suspension of up to four weeks, and countries may reconnect to Russian gas in the event of a declared emergency or if security of supply is seriously threatened in one or more member states. EU.

The decision was agreed upon by ambassadors and endorsed by the European Parliament earlier this month. The amendment, “which will enter into force 20 days after its publication in the Official Journal of the EU, will allow manufacturers’ compliance with the CO2 targets for 2025, 2026, and 2027 to be assessed over the entire three-year period rather than annually.”

It is known that a 15 % reduction target for carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions had been set for this year. Regarding the extension of the deadline, Brussels’ position was that it was unnecessary given that the countries in the region were aware of the schedule approved in 2019.

However, the deadline for EU car manufacturers to comply with the pollutant requirements is set for two years from now.

The company is preparing the launch of the new installment of its popular video game saga Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III, which will arrive on November 10 on PlayStation and Xbox consoles and PC, coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the franchise.

In this sense, after the launch of this new title, Activision intends to continue focusing its efforts on the development of new Call of Duty installments in the long term, with games planned until 2027, as announced by the president. of the company, Rob Kostich, in an interview with GamesBeat.

Currently, Activision has three main studios exclusively responsible for developing the Call of Duty saga, which receive support from other secondary studios. Altogether, Kostich has detailed that around 3,000 developers are working for the entire saga.

This is because, according to Kostich, the games “have changed a lot” and now “are much more difficult to make“, because they require more manpower and more resources to achieve the final results that are offered today in these games. first-person shooter.

Likewise, the manager recalled that “things changed” with the Warzone deliveries, because these require more work for the internal teams and, therefore, more resources, having to deal with the seasons and seasonal content of the video game,” in addition to premium games.

It is a project that “comes with the highest environmental and social standards, and with transparency,” according to the senior official.

The announcement was made during a CELAC-EU round table, where he stated: “Together, we designed a high-quality investment agenda, for the benefit of our two regions.
The Global Gateway program, launched in 2021 in Europe, is aimed at strengthening ties between regions in strategic areas such as energy, the digital sector, transport, as well as health, education and research.
