The 36 clubs that will participate in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League competitions for the 2024-25 season will do so under the new format announced this Monday by UEFA.

According to the organization, “eight matches will be played under the new league phase format (former group phase).”

UEFA indicated that 36 teams will be part of the Champions League in the next edition, so four more teams will be able to participate in the continent’s highest competition.

On the other hand, it was reported that “the clubs classified from first to eighth place will advance directly to the round of 16, those placed from ninth to twenty-fourth place will be measured in a previous play-off, and those from twenty-fifth to thirty-sixth “They will end up eliminated.”

Regarding the UEFA Europa League and Conference League, they detailed that they will have similar formats and will also have 36 teams in the first phase.
