This Monday, March 9, the executive secretary of the Venezuelan Confederation of Workers, Tito Blanco, declared that the labor union will propose a minimum wage of $200 to the government, with the aim of increasing it to $450 per month.

Blanco stated: “We are conducting the relevant economic studies with our advisors in order to present a proposal to the government regarding what we believe should be the minimum wage.”

He clarified that the amount of the proposed salary increase will depend on the calculations made, while also mentioning the potential inflow of approximately $37 billion into the country this year.

Blanco emphasized the availability of “sufficient resources to begin a process of restoring the value of work through the minimum wage,” clarifying the term “minimum wage” because “it encompasses a number of salary components such as social benefits, profit sharing, vacation pay, and night shift bonuses established by law.”

He pointed out that it is necessary to reconstruct the minimum wage, which is very different from income, as has been the current practice, in order to give work its due value.

Former United States President Donald Trump has confirmed today that he plans to turn himself on this Thursday at a Fulton County jail, in Georgia, after being accused of orchestrating a scheme to subvert the 2020 election results in that state.

Trump has made the announcement through his channel on his own social network, Truth Social, days after the US media reported it by information from sources familiar with the plan.

“Can you believe it? I will go to Atlanta, Georgia, this Thursday, to be arrested by a prosecutor who is from the radical left, Fani Willis,” said the former president, who has considered that the magistrate is “campaigning and raising money for this witch hunt.”

Trump has stated that, in his opinion, this case “is being carried out in strict coordination with the Department of Justice of the corrupt Joe Biden” so “it is about electoral interference.” The ex-president’s statements come hours after his legal team has agreed to the conditions that will allow him to remain free once he turns himself in Georgia, which will likely include the payment of a $ 200,000 bail.
