On its first anniversary, Meta’s alternative social network Threads reached 175 million users, the company’s CEO and founder, Mark Zuckerberg, said Wednesday.

As you may remember, the platform was launched on July 5, 2023 to compete with Instagram. In fact, it is considered a spin-off of said social network. But Zuckerberg’s most cherished aspirations are to become the rival of X, owned by Elon Musk.

The social media segment attracts thousands of followers every day. It constitutes a commercial niche with extensive profits and unleashes competition between brands to obtain the greatest benefits, in addition to multiplying the number of users.

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg remain at the head of this competition with the largest number of users on their respective platforms, and they seek to offer more and more new features, particularly with the help of artificial intelligence.
