Banco do Brasil, the country’s second-largest financial institution, achieved profits of USD 5.3 billion in September, which represents 14 % more than the same period in 2022.

According to the data presented in the quarterly report, the bank “earned 8,785 million reais in the third quarter, an increase of 4.5 % annually.”

Regarding the expanded portfolio, the report shows that the Bando do Brasil managed to exceed one billion reais in September; that is, an increase of 10% compared to last year.

Loans to individuals also experienced annual growth of 8 %, while loans to companies or legal entities grew 4.7 %.

Regarding the financial margin, which consists of the “difference between the interest collected on loans and those paid on deposits”, the institution reported 67,728 million reais until September, which translates into 30 % more than in the same period last year. .

“The 90-day delinquency rate reached 2.81 %, an increase from 2.34 % a year ago and which the bank attributed to the bankruptcy of a company to which it lent money.”
