Hyundai Motor Company presented its SUV All-electric IONIQ 9 at the iconic Goldstein House in Beverly Hills, California, ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show. IONIQ 9 is Hyundai Motor’s first full-size, three-row electric SUV and the third model in the IONIQ electric vehicle (EV) lineup.

Hyundai has been consolidating its position in the U.S. as one of the top three leaders in electric vehicle sales, driven by demand for its award-winning and highly acclaimed IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. The company expects to further strengthen its brand position globally with IONIQ 9.

The South Korean automaker and brand announced that it selected Goldstein House for the world premiere of the IONIQ 9 (video shown), as its celebrated architecture reflects the SUV’s spaciousness and Hyundai’s ambitions to continue to lead the way in electrification.

IONIQ 9 is a three-row SUV with capacity for up to seven occupants, offering unique space and features that adapt to people’s needs and, at the same time, offer a special connection between vehicle and customer: “Built to Belong.” Beyond the interior spaciousness and its advanced technological features, this new vehicle provides a comfortable environment that makes you feel at home.

New IONIQ 9: Redefining the user and travel experience; with premium design, performance and technology

The launch and presentation event was attended by more than 300 representatives of international and American media, as well as special guests from around the world. José Muñoz, President and Global Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor Company, gave a welcome speech, in which he greeted the attendees in person and reiterated Hyundai’s commitment to electric vehicles, therefore to innovation and sustainability.

“We are making remarkable progress in the industry and working hard to maintain leadership in electrification. IONIQ 5 and 6 have won multiple awards as Vehicles of the Year in the world. Tonight, we will take it to the next level with the New IONIQ 9”, recalled and assured the senior executive as well as spokesperson for global operations.

SangyUp Lee, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Marketing for Hyundai and Genesis, elaborated on the design innovations of IONIQ 9. Based on its customer-centric design philosophy, IONIQ 9 perfectly combines aerodynamic performance with refined lines, leading to a look and silhouette defined as “aerothetic”, exclusive to this SUV. The vehicle not only optimizes performance, but also pleasantly redefines the use and travel experience.

For his part, Olabisi Boyle, Senior Vice President of Product Planning and Mobility Strategy at Hyundai Motor North America, stressed that the ample space offered by the IONIQ 9 interior is effective and truly premium where people can be separated, but ultimately together.
