Ethereum ready for the transition to Proof of Stake code

The consensus protocol based on Proof-of-Stake (PoS) from the Ethereum blockchain is almost ready. The developers of the world's largest platform will create and develop Ethereum decentralized applications

Justin Drake, a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, said that code specifications for the first phase of the Ethereum transition to a PoS network are already underway. It is expected that by June 30 it will be operative since it is the deadline.

Drake said: “We are still very working on that. Though, the code simplifications are coming, which is great and the fine combing process will find final errors.”

The first phase transition phase of the Ethereum network is called Phase Zero, from a Work Test algorithm (PoW) to a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus algorithm.

Likewise, the process also known as Beacon Chain is part of an important transition from the network to Ethereum 2.0. When this happens, the overall functioning of the network will change significantly as it has been expected for a long time.

With the modifications, a new block generation and validation system will come into operation. That is, the miners will no longer be the protagonists of the Ethereum blockchain and the validators will enter into action.
