Ergophobia, aversion to returning to the office
People who are afraid of returning to the office, not only after vacations but routinely, suffer from ergophobia, a health problem that requires therapy
When the holidays end and the date of returning to work approaches, many people begin to feel a little anxiety. However, when the worker feels more than anxiety and on a routine basis, this can become ergophobia.
The phobia of returning to the workplace can be a consequence of traumatic experiences in the work environment, and that affect their behavior and well-being, such as mistreatment, toxic colleagues, arguments with the boss, psychological attacks, deterioration of working conditions.
Ergophobia generates denial. The person refuses to leave the house, may be practically paralyzed and in that case it is advisable to receive psychological therapy to identify and recognize the cause so that the affected person can obtain tools that help him/her face his/her work life without fear, acquire planning techniques in order to establish priorities and avoid work overload.
Other recommendations are to disconnect from the office in free time, establish limits between work and personal life, practicing relaxation techniques, among others.
