Billionaire Elon Musk surpassed Mark Zuckerberg on Monday as the third richest person in the world as a result of the rally that Tesla shares have experienced on the first business day of their split.
By the mid-session, and as reflected by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk had a net worth of about 111.3 billion dollars (93.172 million euros), compared to 110.500 million dollars (92.502 million euros) of the CEO and founder of the social network Facebook.
Musk has seen a steep rise in wealth during 2020, as Tesla shares have gained 475% in value so far this year, boosting his wealth by $ 76.1 billion (€ 63.6 billion).
In addition, his fortune could continue to increase, since his remuneration plan for objectives contemplates a total compensation of more than 50,000 million (41,856 million euros).
In the first place in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index remains the CEO and co-founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, with a net worth of more than 200,000 million dollars (167,410 million euros).
