El Salvador will become the first country to host an international conference on Bitcoin. The event, called “Historic Bitcoin,” will take place on November 12 and 13, with an agenda that includes topics such as monetary sovereignty, culture, and financial inclusion.

The conference will be held in the Historic Center of San Salvador, the country’s capital, with the participation of “figures from the crypto ecosystem, including entrepreneur Ricardo Salinas, author Jeff Booth, Jack Mallers, one of the driving forces behind the Lightning Network, and renowned BTC advocate Max Keiser and his wife Stacy Herbert, who are also advisors to the Salvadoran government, among others.”

“Bitcoin Histórico,” an event organized by the National Bitcoin Office, aims to “consolidate the role of cryptocurrency as a symbol of financial freedom and as a driver of a cultural renaissance.”

According to the organizers, over the two days of the event, attendees will enjoy lectures, debates, and activities open to the public, which will be broadcast on giant screens in Gerardo Barrios Square.

Among the historic sites in the Salvadoran capital where conference activities will take place are the National Palace, the National Library, and the National Theater.

Strategic topics in the crypto sector, such as regulations, “the energy impact, technological infrastructure, and the challenges of financial education,” will be addressed on November 12 and 13.
