Dominican Republic to ask visa to Venezuelan citizens

The measure will be applied as of December 16, 2019 to the nationals of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex) of the Dominican Republic informed that as of December 16, 2019, Venezuelans who wish to enter the Caribbean country must present a visa issued through the corresponding consular missions.

The measure contained in Resolution 006-2019, signed by the Foreign Minister, Miguel Vargas, establishes the tourist visa requirement for Venezuelan citizens.

However, those Venezuelans who hold diplomatic or official passports as well as those with a US visa and also Schenguen, Canadian or British visa are exempt from this requirement.

As resolved, these people may enter the Dominican Republic without a visa, with the payment of the tourist card and presenting their travel document, as long as their visit to the country is for tourist purposes.

To obtain this requirement, Venezuelans must process their visa requests before the competent consular mission, presenting the requirements established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the different categories published on the official website of the Dominican Foreign Ministry, www.mirex. gob.do.
