Dermalog: Fingerprint is more secure than password

During the exhibition CEBIT 2018, to be held from June 11 to 15, the German company will present biometrics as a "direct and safe" alternative

Dermalog, the largest biometric company in Germany, recently reported in a statement that during the CEBIT 2018 (Hannover) exhibition, to be held from June 11 to 15 this year, will reveal that “passwords are a thing of the past” .

Under the premise that biometrics is a direct and safe alternative, visitors will have examples on the company’s stand, where it will show how this technology works best and where the advantages are.

According to the company, the passwords so far have been a “necessary evil” for which there is now a simple alternative, namely biometrics. This solution would be applicable to all platforms, since it enables the use of biometrics with all the usual operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, Android and iOS. It can also be easily integrated into the application software as a replacement for the password.

The managing director of Dermalog, Gunther Mull, points out that “for a simple security, the face is sufficient, for a more comprehensive security, we also use the finger. Our latest ‘live detection’ prevents identity theft, and makes biometrics is significantly safer than passwords”.

Interested visitors will find the company at CEBIT, Hall 12, stand D24. In addition to the biometric income, the company will show other biometric solutions for face, fingers and iris in detail in numerous live demonstrations.
