Training event in Caracas will highlight the importance of including Dental Sleep Medicine in the academic curricula of all Venezuelan faculties of Medicine and Dentistry

Professionals and students of Dentistry, Medicine and related careers will meet at the Minds Cowork facilities in El Rosal (Caracas), on Saturday, October 7, to participate in a cutting-edge event with two high-level professionals from the area of ​​Medicine Dental del Sueño, who visit us from Tufts University in Boston, United States.

Dr. Leopoldo Correa is an associate professor and division director of the Craniofacial Pain Center at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. Correa incorporated the teaching of Dental Sleep Medicine into the undergraduate and graduate programs at Tufts University and developed several continuing education courses.

He is an active member of professional associations such as ADEA, ADA, AADSM, WSS. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM), a member of the International College of Dentists (ICD) and a visiting professor at different

For his part, Dr. Alvaro Ordoñez is a researcher in TMJ (temporomandibular joint), dental occlusion, orofacial pain, and dental sleep disorders at Tufts University in Boston. Within his professional career, he has been president of the Craniofacial Department at the University of Florida, president of the Academy of Osseointegration and Clinical Innovations and president of Latin America ICOI.

Currently, he is director of Miami Implants Live and the US Institute of Cosmetic Implantology. He is also director of TMJ Dental Consultants. He is in private practice in South Miami, Florida.

This is an educational event where the importance of including Dental Sleep Medicine in the academic curricula of all the faculties of Medicine and Dentistry in our country will be highlighted. The training activity and event will benefit the Huellas de Bondad Foundation, an institution that since 2016 has been in charge of working in vulnerable communities, enhancing their natural leadership to achieve a positive impact on the environment.

With the endorsement of the College of Dentists of Venezuela, the appointment and call are aimed at students of the Dentistry and Medicine careers, as well as graduated general dentists, doctors, dental hygienists, postgraduate students, specialists and will be attended by the academic authorities of the Venezuelan faculties of Dentistry, Medicine as well as Scientific Societies.

Emerging trend within health

The day is scheduled from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. Registration is now open, and the investment includes refreshments, lunch, certificate of participation as well as a closing cocktail.
