David Gelernter plans to create an alternative to Facebook based on blockchain
The computer scientist David Gelernter revealed his plans to create a new rival to Facebook called "Revolution Populi"
The outstanding computer science professor is a firm believer that the future of technologies will be largely dependent on design, in improving the ability to interact with human beings and not isolate themselves in small separate pockets in the network.
According to the researcher, it will be a platform for social networks that prioritizes ownership of individual data and democratic decision-making. Gelernter has always been ahead when it comes to technology.
The Gelernter project is essentially a new public square. The rules of the platform will be based on the Constitution of the United States and can only be changed by a vote of the users of the tool.
Despite the great challenges, Gelernter firmly believes that this dream can become a reality. He also considers that the project will be financed through an ICO. The expert expects his platform to be the first major Facebook competitor of many to come.
“Within five years, there will be well-established Facebook competitors of the kind that do not exist now. They need to exist; they will exist.” It is this thought that has led him to create Revolution Populi.
