CryptoKitties launches auction to save sea turtles

The funds raised with Honu, half cat and half turtle, will be used to save the sea turtles of Antigua, Barbuda and British Virgin Islands

The online game based on blockchain technology CryptoKitties launched a new product for a charity auction that aims to collect funds to save the sea turtles of Antigua, Barbuda and the British Virgin Islands.

Honu is a fun product of the brand, half cat and half turtle, and that allows users to make a bid that should be above US $ 25,000, the highest figure recorded so far.

Cassidy Robertson, director of Kitties-for-Good, said they are proud to see Honu working, sometimes as an environmental activist telling stories about endangered turtles and in others as an icon of pop culture, combining different aspects of Preservation.

Although it is not the first CryptoKitties for charity, Honu has aroused interest in a large number of users around the world. The creators are betting on collecting enough funds for the cause.

Thanks to the fact that the game allows to personalize and collect virtual cats, it has given a boost to more holistic initiatives, such as the auction with Honu for ecological purposes.
