Corruption hits Argentine economy

According to Nicolas Dujovne, Ministry of Finance, the cases related to the Kirchners administrations could affect the economic growth of the country

The Argentine faces a hard economic crisis due to the measures applied by president Mauricio Macri months ago. This situation got worse because of alleged cases of corruption during the administration of  Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández, respectively.

Even though the Argentine president asked the authorities to settle the alleged bribing cases, just a few people have been judicially charged up to now.

Nicolás Dujovne, Ministry of Finance, indicated in an interview to the journal Clarín, that it is the worst shock “that has affected the country after the signature in June of a financial assistance agreement with the International Monetary Fund.”

It was known that former Kirchners fellows as well as a group of companies from public works sector are supposedly involved in the corruption affairs.

According to Dujovne, the country’s economic growth will be affected in long term by recent cases of corruption.
