Construction of first solar park in Swiss Alps begins

The Swiss Alps will soon have the first solar energy park, a project that must be ready by 2025 according to a federal law passed two years ago

The first solar park in the Swiss Alps must be ready by 2025, according to a federal law that was passed two years ago. It is part of a project to generate energy during winter.

The park is located in the canton of Grisons, southeast of the mountain range and at an altitude of 2,200 meters. According to local sources, the park will consist of 5,700 solar panels that will supply energy to the 6,500 homes in this small town.

Government estimates indicate that during the winter, these facilities will be able to produce about half of the electricity to cover the high seasonal demand.

With an approximate investment of 85 million Swiss francs (90.3 million euros), the solar park should be completed in 2025, in accordance with a federal law from two years ago aimed at the construction of such facilities. The objective is to meet demand and contribute to the production of renewable energy.
