CONMEBOL president re-elected until 2031

The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) unanimously re-elected current president Alejandro Domínguez, who will remain in office until 2031

The current president of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL), Alejandro Domínguez, was re-elected for the 2026-2031 term, with unanimous support from the national associations.

The re-election was officially announced during the 81st CONMEBOL Ordinary Congress in Luque, Paraguay, last week. On the occasion of his appointment, Domínguez said: “I’m happy here, I’m happy working in football. I like it. I never thought it would happen, but it happened to me, and I owe this to you. This is our team, this is the team we have, and it makes CONMEBOL what it is today. Together, nine years ago when we started this, we dreamed of a different, great CONMEBOL.”
