Commercial flights authorized only to Los Roques and five countries
Despite INAC's decision to extend the ban on international commercial flights, the routes between the Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico, Turkey and Iran will be maintained
The National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) extended the ban on international commercial flights until February 2021, except for five countries: the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Iran and Panama. The latter country joins the list of nations authorized by the national Executive.
The measure, which has been in force since last March with the arrival of the pandemic in the country, began to relax at the beginning of November, with the first flight of the Laser Airline to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic).
The authorized destinations are Los Roques, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico, Turkey and Iran and the authorized lines are Conviasa, Avior, Laser, Estelar, Ravsa and Turpial. Airports will be closed for other flights from abroad.
The Venezuelan Air Lines Association (ALAV) suggested in recent days the reincorporation of destinations such as Colombia and Portugal, by mid-December: “Destinations such as Colombia, Panama, Portugal, which have already announced a flight scheduled for December 15, so that they can be opened and those flights can be carried out,” explained the president of ALAV, Humberto Figuera.
In addition, it recommended that the authorities set up a clinical laboratory so that passengers can undergo the PCR test and can travel to another country.
