Colombia works on a cryptocurrencies draft law

A bill on digital currencies will be presented before the Colombian Congress. Citizens are able to review the proposal and make their recommendations until April 8

Mauricio Toro is the representative of Bogotá for the Green Alliance Party before the House of Congress of Colombia and will present before the legislative power the new law project that aims to regulate commercial activities with cryptocurrencies in the country.

In the same way, the plan that will be exposed places special emphasis on the role of the exchange platforms that operate at the local level.

For its part, Toro – in his personal Twitter account – invites Colombian citizens to review the first draft so the largest number of people make recommendations and notes to make the final product much more accurate and comprehensive.

The drafting of the project had the participation of a multidisciplinary team and expert in various areas. The objective is to structure a plural and concise proposal on the issue of the commercialization of digital currencies.

The project focuses on the definition of the general considerations for the transactions and the operation of the exchanges, which are in charge of providing the service for the exchange of cryptocurrencies.
