Colombia creates digital public university

The authorities of the Department of Antioquia seek to transform Colombian education with the Digital IU

The first virtual public university in Colombia was created in December 2017 by the Departmental Assembly of Antioquia.

The purpose of the study house is to become a large digital learning network and aims to reach the most remote places in the Nueva Granada region.

For his part, the rector of IU Digital, Darío Montoya, said that the aula magna seeks to train professionals “committed to entrepreneurship, leadership and digital humanism.”

In the same way, it seeks to encourage the creation of organizations and positively impact the sustainable development of companies.

The university recently opened its first academic program called “Technology in Software Development“. These skills will help graduates to train in the development of mobile applications, web and video games.
