Coinbase started campaign to help Venezuelans

One of the most important exchanges in the United States began an initiative that will deposit a dollar a day to families in Santa Elena de Uairén during the next three months

Given the current situation in Venezuela, one of the most important cryptocurrency exchange companies in the United States, Coinbase, began a campaign to help the most needy families in the eastern region of the country.

The name of this initiative is “12 days of Coinbase“, and it consists of helping more than 100 families with cryptocurrencies on a daily basis during the next three months.

This was stated through its official blog: “We will place one dollar in cryptocurrencies directly in the crypto wallets of more than 100 families in Santa Elena de Uairén every day for three months, and beneficiaries can buy basic food and supplies at a local store that accepts payments in crypto, subsidizing daily expenses”.

This project will be carried out thanks to GiveCrypto.org, an organization founded by Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase. The exchange, by itself, will donate 10 thousand US dollars in the form of zcash coins.

Coinbase also said that this is only the beginning, given that “GiveCrypto.org and peer organizations will need more support from us and the community as they create forays where cryptocurrencies can help”.
