Coinbase expands to Canada and offers new payment options

Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange now offers services to Canadians after expanding its range to the country

Following a strategic partnership with local Peoples Trust Company, crypto exchange Coinbase announced its arrival in Canada.

The crypto asset trading platform will offer Canadian clients new payment rails, integrating transfers with Interac.

According to Coinbase, this feature “makes it easy for local customers to deposit and withdraw Canadian dollars into and out of their Coinbase accounts.”

In a press release, the platform made it clear that from now on, these transactions will be free and almost instantaneous.

Included in the launch of its Canadian operations is the Coinbase One subscription product, “with a 30-day free trial. This service gives users access to zero trading fees, enhanced participation rewards, priority support, and other benefits.”

Coibase’s rivals, Binance and Bybit, have been facing difficult legal and regulatory situations. However, Coinbase is committed to the Canadian market, seeking to position it as a leader in the crypto market.

“Canada is well positioned to be a global leader in the crypto economy thanks to high levels of crypto awareness, a passionate local tech ecosystem, and progress toward a strong regulatory framework,” said Nana Murugesan, Coinbase’s vice president of international and business development.
