Coinbase announces a platform aimed at launching new tokens

The main objective is to guide and help the development of projects related to the incipient startups

This Tuesday, Coinbase, one of the most recognized cryptocurrency trading platforms in the crypto world, announced the launch of its platform aimed at promoting new tokens from startup companies, as reported by Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, in an interview made through a podcast with O’Shaughnessy Asset Management CEO Patrick O’Shaughnessy.

According to Armstrong’s statements, the name could be Coinbase Launch and it will be designed to help new companies that want to launch a new token, thus meeting the needs that each one of them requires.

Among the options that companies will have when choosing are: issue a token, raise funds for their project or simply create their community. All options will be available together or individually.

Coinbase hand in hand with companies

Considering that the development process of a token is quite complex, Armstrong explains that the intention is to take “the hand of people through that process and we will help them with the custody of it; we will help them create the smart contract and to deal with the problems of governance and the concession of the same if it is necessary to distribute powers between the employees.”

The representative of the trading platform, assured that the similarity of the project with Kickstarter is quite large. The only thing that differentiates them is that Coinbase would carry out an intervention in the development process in case the client needs it, unlike Kickstarter who does not carry out promoted projects. This includes a layer of security for the platform for potential investors against dangers or scams.
