CoinATMRadar confirms more than 7,000 crypto ATMs in the world

Latest update for global crypto ATMs shows 7,050 machines in 75 countries

The United States continues to be the nation with the most crypto ATMs installed, reaching a figure of 5,129 machines, more than 70%, which offer cryptocurrency services. Canada is in the second place with 753 ATMs for approximately 11%. The United Kingdom is in third place with 303 crypto devices (4%). Austria with 135 and Spain with 83 complete the list.

The first ATM was installed in 2013 in a Vancouver coffee shop in the USA and it turned out to be the initiative of a company called Robocoin. Currently, the idea has already reached more than 7 thousand ATMs worldwide.

Compared to exchanges, crypto ATMs allow users a physical kiosk to exchange fiat for popular crypto assets such as bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin. Under the crypto buying and selling modality, ATMs have become the most popular method for sending remittances, allowing users to send cash payments to family and friends in other countries.

In an interview with ATM Marketplace, Andrew Barnard, co-founder and CEO of Bitstop, says the market has grown significantly with the intention of “working with some of the largest and best operators in the world. So we are seeing ATM operators in the traditional ATM industry enter this space that they want to own and operate their own bitcoin ATM.”

He also states that while several companies in the US are integrating bitcoin ATMs into their suite of services, Bitstop continues to explore growth worldwide: “So I would expect not only the US continue to grow at an even faster rate than it already is, but we also expect a lot of international demand and we are also focusing on different regions of the world.”
