China launches public services platform with AI

This platform will be used in the southwestern municipality of China, Chonqing, as reported by the Asian media

China’s public sector will henceforth have a platform built with artificial intelligence (ai), destined for the southwestern Chinese municipality of Chongqing.

According to the National Development and Reform Commission, the data capacity of the platform will not fall below five petabytes (one petabyte is equivalent to one thousand 24 terabytes), with an image recognition rate higher than 95%, a recognition rate of characters greater than 93% and a speech recognition rate of more than 97%.

This tool will also have about five million items for standardized data. Its use will be aimed at the financial, public security, intelligent manufacturing, intelligent education and social services sectors, among others.

The infrastructure promises to safeguard the security of information and data, to integrate in depth with the real economy and to provide public services to benefit the people’s livelihood, the paper says.

The development of this platform was given thanks to the work of Cloudwalk, Baidu, Tencent and iFlytek, who received support in addition to 200 companies that participated in the trial period.
