China could take action against the US

The Ministry of Finance said in a statement that it will seek ways to offset the tariffs announced by the Donald Trump government

The Ministry of Finance of China announced in a statement that it will take the necessary measures to counter the latest tariffs announced by the United States, which consider a violation of the agreement reached by both nations.

This was indicated after this week the US authorities agreed to delay next December 15th in the case of some products, such as mobile phones or laptops, the entry into force of the tariffs that will be taxed from September 1st, with an additional 10% to imports from China worth 300,000 million dollars.

After the decision, senior representatives of the governments of China and the US resumed, via the phone, the economic and commercial dialogue “at the highest level” and set out to continue talking within two weeks.

However, US President Donald Trump said Wednesday that China should focus on working “humanely” with Hong Kong before reaching a trade agreement with the United States and stressed that postponing until December the application of new tariffs on Chinese products would benefit China more than the United States.

The Asian government later stressed that China must take the necessary measures to counter these tariffs, which complicate the negotiation to resolve the trade war between the two countries.
